Medicinal tanned sheepskin - size S to XL.
These wonderfully soft sheepskins have been medicinally tanned and then shorn short to about three centimeters. The coats provide comfort when lying or sitting for a long time. The warm, soft fur feels wonderful. These coats are also ideal for the pram or stroller!
- provides 'nest warmth' for babies and children
- gives heat for muscle problems
- very comfortable due to the good pressure distribution
How are the sheepskins processed?
Texelana medicated pelts are mildly cleaned according to the strictest EU standards and are ecologically tanned. As a result, the active softening substance lanolin (wool fat) and the soft structure of the wool have been preserved. This also keeps the natural scent slightly present. No chemical dyes are used for these coats. Due to the medicated tanning, the furs are no longer susceptible to fungal growth. The coat is shorn back to about 3 cm; this makes the support the fur provides greater than a "regular" sheepskin. Medicinal tanned coats are not dyed or bleached. The yellowish color of the coat comes from the way of tanning.
Pleasant lighting
The fur density of these coats is high, so that body heat is retained when you lie on them. This can help relieve muscle pain and back pain. Medicinal tanned furs can also help delay the onset of pressure sores. The soft, moisturizing and warming medicinal sheepskin is also a solution for other discomforts caused by prolonged lying or sitting.
The medicated tanned furs are also very suitable for placing in your baby's pram or stroller. The coat keeps the child nice and warm, thanks to the moisture-regulating and warming properties of the wool. The pleasant softness of the sheepskin gives a sense of security. Thanks to the optimal temperature and moisture-regulating properties of a sheepskin, babies and children often fall asleep more peacefully.

Washing instructions
Medicinal coats are (limited) washable, we advise to wash the coat only if strictly necessary!
- Wash at 30°C by hand with Texelana® wool detergent (contains lanolin);
- After washing, rinse very well with clean water;
- Add a good splash of natural vinegar to the last rinse water. Leave the fur in this for 10-15 minutes (this prevents the leather from hardening);
- Let the fur dry at room temperature with the hairy side down, for example on a drying rack. Never in the dryer, and not on or near the heating or in the full sun;
- Regularly pull the leather into shape during the drying process so that it remains supple and does not curl up;
- After drying, comb the coat with a hard brush, so that the sheepskin lambskin remains beautiful and wonderfully soft.
- After washing, the leather can become less supple and the hair stiffer. This is normal. Washing the fur is at your own risk.
Origin
Our sheepskins come from the Netherlands, England, Ireland, Sweden and Iceland and are tanned and processed in various tanneries in Europe, according to EU guidelines.
